Graciously Assertive

My dear friend and colleague, California State Senator, Susan Rubio shares, “Graciously Assertive is a roadmap, offering the best routes to becoming better humans and better leaders, while offering continued guidance for bettering life and career overall.”

Inspiring, compelling, and deeply informative, my book, Graciously Assertive is a guide designed by a businessperson for businesspeople, teaching leaders how to evolve into better human beings and more thoughtful and empathetic leaders who hold space for others while in conversation.

You are the leader of your own life, but how you respond and navigate through challenges speaks volumes on who you are as a leader. Mindful leadership means being aware of our surroundings, knowing our impact on others and responding with grace when faced with adversity.

Self-awareness isn’t just about knowing who we are, but about understanding our impact, our place, and our purpose in this world, while still growing from our mistakes, being resilient and truly authentic. It is imperative to take a moment each day and reflect on your journey, own your mistakes, and celebrate your wins.

The women in my life have been the biggest inspiration behind this book. I was inspired to write this book to empower women from all walks of life who have a true yearning to reach their highest and most blessed potential. Following your intuition is a key component to success, combined with the tools I share in my book.

When you accept yourself, then you start loving yourself, and when you love yourself, you can achieve anything! Know that you are worth it.

In May, Morehouse Publishing published my latest book, Graciously Assertive: How Becoming a Better Human Makes You a Better Leader, an inspiring, practical handbook for business leaders. I am so very proud of this book and excited to share, inspire and encourage you to not only to follow your dream path, but to do it authentically and graciously.

I have dedicated my career to empowering women leaders, and in this book, I offer the tools and strategies I have used in my career, to help thousands of women transform their lives—professionally and personally.

Breaking down what I refer to as “Graciously Assertive” Leadership, I share the eight pillars that lay the foundation for a life of authenticity, meaningful connections, and positive impact that enables professionals to flourish in their careers, as well as their personal lives. Among the pillars I teach are self-awareness, self-regulation, self-compassion, zero tolerance for judgment, and graciously assertive communication.
